SAFETY TRAINING FOR STUDENTS WHO WORK
UNSUPERVISED IN LABS
The
training for students working on student projects, graduate theses etc. in labs
is as follows:
1.
Attend a “CNSM Safety Training” session (offered at the beginning
of every semester and also periodically throughout the year) given by Safety
Office personnel Jeffrey Mellon or Kristin Hunter. Check with your Department
office for the training schedule, or call CNSM Safety at x55623 (562-985-5623
from off campus). You will receive a Safety Manual and a Safety
Program Form at the training session (click the links to see these).
2.
After attending the training session and reading the
Safety Manual, RETURN THE SAFETY PROGRAM FORM IN PERSON
TO THE CNSM SAFETY OFFICE, PH3-018, 985-5623, within one week of attending the
training session. You will be
given a quiz at that time. If you do not
return the form within 7 days your job status could be jeopardized.
3.
You must return the form to register your
training!!! If you do not return the form within 7 days,
you will be documented as not having received the training, and you may not be
able to work unsupervised in the lab.
Thank
you, and please call the CNSM Safety Office (Kristin Hunter, Jeff Mellon,
x55623) if you have any questions.
