In May 2006, the CNSM Faculty Council passed a resolution to establish an award recognizing the contributions and achievements of the CNSM Faculty. This is the second year to solicit nominations for the award. The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2008. The award will be presented at the Annual College Meeting to be held August 29, 2008.
New Faculty Award for Excellence
Note: Due to the unusual circumstances of many professors moving in advance of the demolition of PH3, and due to new department chair elections in some departments, the CNSM College Council wishes to extend the deadline for nominations for the College "Faculty Award for Excellence" to May 1st, 2008. Please take this opportunity to nominate your esteemed colleagues, the excellent professors of our college, for recognition.

CNSM Faculty Award for Excellence
(the Pretty Darn Good Professor Award)
The CNSM College Council will normally select one to three award-winners each academic year to be honored at the Annual College Meeting held the following Fall (after Convocation). The recipients of these awards will be selected from individuals who have been nominated by another faculty member for their exceptional performance while at CSULB in one or more of following aspects:
- Teaching
- Scholarly Achievements
- Service
- Leadership.
In recognition of the value that the College places on the contributions these faculty award-winners, the Dean will add a monetary award of $1,000.
How To Nominate
A detailed letter of nomination by a faculty member (or members) citing the accomplishments and contributions of the nominee at CSULB must be accompanied by the nominee's current CV. Nominations must be submitted to the College Office to be held for the Faculty Council before March 31st of each year.
Eligibility
CNSM Faculty, including Tenured, Probationary, and Temporary (Full-Time and Part-Time Lecturers).
Excluded from Eligibility
Winners of the award in any given year shall not be eligible for a subsequent award for 7 years. CNSM College Council members are not eligible for the award during their term of service, nor are they eligible to nominate faculty for the award.
