In the latter part of 2007, CSU's support of CSULB and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics' commitment to research infused instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate student levels was signed into contractual agreement to replace the aging PH3 facility with a new state-of-the-art teaching and research building.
When it opens in 2010, the new science building will furnish nearly twice the assignable space as MLSC. The facility will have 22 research laboratories, 31 teaching laboratories, two 180-seat lecture halls, and two 80-seat lecture halls. This is where CNSM's efforts to combine the teaching-intensive character of a small liberal-arts college with the creative scholarship of a top research university will find their fullest expression, and a proud program will rise to new levels of excellence.
We will be asked to make numerous adjustments to accommodate the changes that will ultimately result in a new science building/complex. This page is here to assist you, the people of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as you adjust and accommodate the many changes in the days to come. Answers to many questions about the building demolition and construction are in the FAQ. If you cannot find an answer to your question, please contact Bob Loeschen at extension 5-4939 or by email at loeschen@csulb.edu.
