Prerequisite: admission to Science Education M.S. program. SCED 551 is a core course required of all Science Education M.S. candidates. The course introduces students to the professional literature about science teaching and learning. The course also traces the historical development of elementary and secondary science curriculum models. Students will look at the role science and education organizations have played in reforming the science curriculum, and analyze curricula from a variety of teaching and learning perspectives.
