Productivity Report 2005-2006
Science Education Faculty In Person and In Press
The Science Education Department at CSULB is one of the largest departments of its kind in the country. Our full-time faculty are busy at the local, state and national levels. Bill Straits taught Chautauqua courses this summer and a professional development workshop at the annual meeting of Association of Science Teacher Educators in addition to writing several articles (see his newsletter article describing one of his summer courses). Catherine Martin is a new reviewer for MERLOT (see her newsletter article about MERLOT). Jim Kisiel has been consulting with a few different science museums. Susan Gomez-Zwiep runs professional development workshops for practicing K-12 teachers as part of the K-12 Alliance. Laura Henriques serves on the Board of Directors for the California Science Teachers Association and was just elected to the Elections Committee for the Association of Science Teacher Educators. Bill Ritz chaired the national conference for the National Science Teachers Association (held in Anaheim in April 2006). Al Colburn has been busy with the Master's program and faculty governance. Maureen McMahon has been on leave since 2005 but she maintains ties with the College and department. This year she is helping faculty with grant proposals and funding opportunities.
Below are the publications and professional presentations that we've done in the past year. You can see complete CVs for faculty on the faculty/staff page of the department website.
