Friday, August 15, 2008

• Leave CSULB @ 9:30 AM (Transportation provided)
• LUNCH in Mojave
• STOP #1 – Red Rock Canyon
• STOP #2 – Lone Pine / Owens Valley Fault
• DINNER at 5 PM in Mammoth (Pizza)
• Arrive in Camp, set up tents
• Camp Fire

Saturday, August 16, 2008

• BREAKFAST @ 8:00 AM
• STOP #1 - Devil's Postpile @ 9:00 AM
• STOP # 2 - Mammoth Mountain overlook@ 10:00 AM
• STOPS #3 and #4 - Obsidian Dome and Wilson Butte
• Sack LUNCH
• Afternoon exploration, hike to nearby lake
• DINNER @ 7:00 PM
• Camp Fire

Sunday, August 17, 2008

• BREAKFAST @ 8:00 AM
• STOP #1 Convict Lake @ 10:00 AM
• Eat LUNCH in Lone Pine
• Arrive at CSULB before 5:00 PM

Cost: $100 per person checks payable to Department of Geological Sciences, CSULB by July 25th. Fees include transportation, camping fees, Saturday dinner/breakfasts/lunch, Sunday breakfast. Contributions that exceed $100 will be donated to the CSULB Geological Sciences Department Seminar Series. Make reservations by email to Margaret Costello at mcostel2@csulb.edu by July 16, 2008. Reservation spaces are limited. Alumni and friends are welcome to drive separately and stay in Mammoth in hotel (http://www.visitmammoth.com/).
