About Us

Mission Statement

The James L. Jensen Student Access to Science and Mathematics (SAS) Center serves to support, prepare, and advance the education of students in all fields of science and mathematics through active participation in research, scholarship, and co-curricular activities.

How can I benefit from the Jensen SAS Center?

Supported by the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM), all declared science and mathematics students are automatically members of the Jensen SAS Center and may take advantage of all its programs, resources, and services provided, which are designed to encourage and support CNSM students as they prepare for science and mathematics-based careers. Students who are enrolled in any Natural Science or Mathematics course may use the tutoring services, and attend scheduled workshops.

Free, drop-in science and math tutoring
Pre-health professions advisement
General Education advising
Research and scholarship opportunities
Career and graduate school preparation workshops
Professional development workshops
Access to the Jensen SAS Center computer lab

Additionally, we are dedicated to educating current and prospective students, family members, counselors, and administrators about the assortment of student support services and career development resources offered at California State University, Long Beach, which are designed to encourage overall student participation and success at the university.
